The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across the country and arrested eight suspects,seizing 383.6 kilograMS(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 30.5 million, an ANF spokesman said on Wednesday. In an international drug interdiction operation at Bacha Khan International Airport, officials recovered 9.2 kg of methamphetamine (ice) soaked into an Ihram packed in the luggage of a passenger travelling to Jeddah.

In an inter-provincial operation near the Karachi-Hyderabad Toll Plaza, ANF recovered 294 kg of hashish, a 30-bore pistol, one magazine and six rounds of ammunition from a vehicle. In another operation near Tarkai Toll Plaza in Jhelum, ANF seized 7. 2 kg of hashish from a vehicle and arrested the suspect.During domestic operations, ANF recovered 30 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist near a hotel in Quetta.

In Dina, officials recovered 13.2 kg of hashish during a raid on a house and arrested the suspect.In Karachi, ANF seized 12 kg of hashish from the possession of two suspects near Sohrab Goth. In a separate operation at a courier office in Karachi, officials recovered 18 kg of hashish concealed in two fibre boxes.The spokesman said cases had been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
