The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its fight against drug trafficking, conducting five successful operations across the country that resulted in the seizure of over 32 kilograms of illegal drugs and the arrest of four individuals. ANF authorities tols that in a operation, authorities intercepted a parcel destined for Italy at a courier office in Rawalpindi, seizing 320 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as "ice." Separately, ANF teams apprehended individuals in possession of illegal narcotics in Peshawar, Islamabad, and Lahore. In Hayatabad, Peshawar, 12 kilograms of hashish were recovered from one suspect.
Another operation near Islamabad's Lakeview Park led to the seizure of 9.6 kilograms of hashish. Lahore witnessed two separate ANF interventions. Near Wagah border, officers seized 9 kilograms of heroin, while another operation close to Babu Sabu Interchange resulted in the recovery of 1.2 kilograms of hashish and 270 grams of opium. Cases have been registered against all arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway to dismantle the drug trafficking networks involved.
