Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Masood Khan has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, who was stabbed to death in Conroe, a small city north of Houston. The Ambassador expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Dr. Talat Jehan Khan came to the United States in late 90s from Karachi. She did her specialization in Pediatrics and was practicing medicine in USA for a long time. The alleged perpetrator has reportedly been arrested by the police and he was under investigation. The Embassy of Pakistan Washington DC and the Consulate General in Houston are ascertaining facts from the bereaved family and the relevant authorities.
Masood Khan termed the incident as “shocking” and a “senseless act of violence.” “Dr. Talat Jehan Khan was a dedicated healthcare professional and a beloved member of Pakistani American community,” Masood Khan said. “We share grief of the bereaved family and pray for eternal peace of the departed soul,” he said. He also condoled with the entire Pakistani American community and spoke to Dr. Arshad Rehan, President of Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) to convey a deep sense of loss and shock.
“We hope a swift inquiry into this crime by law enforcement agencies to deliver justice, at the earliest,” added the Ambassador.The Ambassador in his personal messages to the bereaved family assured all possible support from the Embassy of Pakistan and Consulate in Houston in completing last rites of the deceased. The Consul General of Pakistan in Houston will attend the funeral of Dr Talat.
