Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that the government has no trouble in talks between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and military. Speaking during an interview with a foreign news outlet on Thursday, he said that the military had announced distancing itself of politics but PTI founder desires its intervention in politics. He said that Imran Khan needs to clarify his agenda of talks with military. Ahsan Iqbal said that the pattern of politics followed by PTI was a direct attack on national interests which could not be allowed.

He said that PTI founder took the political spat to the US House of Representatives and the party would be banned in accordance with the law. He said that Imran Khan had confessed that holding a protest in front of General Headquarters (GHQ) was his plan. On the one hand, PTI founder talked about civil supremacy, on the other hand, he invited military to intervene. The minister stated that had the May 9 incidents happened in the US, action would have been taken against PTI. He recalled the incident of attack on the US Congress and said that 14 individuals were sentenced in that case. Ahsan Iqbal said that PTI could join the national mainstream politics if it changed its course.
