In a significant move to promote communal harmony, senior APHC leader and President of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shian Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi has called for unity between Shia and Sunni communities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing prominent Shia and Sunni religious scholars convened by the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama and IIOJK Muslim Personal Law Board, Agha Hassan warned against sectarian rhetoric, declaring that individuals engaged in fomenting sectarianism would be blacklisted and face strict consequences.
He underscored that such divisive actions undermine the unity upheld by respected Islamic leaders like Ayatollah Agha Syed Mahdi and Ayatollah Agha Syed Yousuf. “The Agha family has consistently worked to preserve Islamic brotherhood and foster peace among communities,” he stated, reaffirming the importance of solidarity. The gathering concluded with a collective pledge to reject sectarianism and promote mutual understanding, emphasizing that Islam stands firmly against hatred and division. Leaders at the meeting reiterated their commitment to strengthening Muslim unity in the face of forces seeking to destabilize the community.
