Pakistan continues to play a responsible and exemplary role in the ongoing repatriation process of illegal Afghan residents. The country has consistently demonstrated itself as a reliable and supportive neighbour, setting a global precedent that is unparalleled. Pakistan has not only provided shelter to Afghan nationals but has also opened up opportunities for employment, showcasing its generosity on the world stage. Apart from taking steps towards the honourable return of Afghan nationals to Afghanistan, Pakistan has established well-equipped transit camps in various districts to facilitate temporary residence for those in need.
Daily, thousands of Afghans are returning to their homeland through the Chaman and Torkham borders, expressing gratitude for Pakistan's hospitality. The positive impact on the country's economy is evident as the voluntary return of illegal foreign residents is contributing to economic stability.On November 17, a total of 2398 illegal Afghan residents left the country, including 691 men, 558 women, and 1149 children. For a smooth transition back to Afghanistan, 213 vehicles were deployed to facilitate the return of 490 families. As of now, a total of 232,862 illegal Afghan residents have voluntarily repatriated.
