Two dacoits were killed in firing by their accomplices while two others managed to escape during a police encounter in the jurisdiction of Gojera police station, Okara on Friday. According to police, the identity of the deceased dacoits could not be ascertained. The dacoits started firing shots indiscriminately upon seeing the police team. The police fired back in retaliation and self-defence. During the exchange of fire, two unknown robbers were killed in firing by their accomplices.
The dacoits were fleeing after snatching a Honda 125 motorcycle and Rs25,000 from a person named Ali Raza. Two dacoits were killed while their two accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness. One motorcycle, stolen items, cash and illegal weapons were recovered from the crime scene. A heavy contingent of Okara police surrounded the area and launched a search for the arrest of the fleeing dacoits.
