76 gas connections disconnectedBreaking

In a crackdown on gas theft and illegal use of gas, Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGPL) has disconnected 76 connections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. Additionally, 119 under-billing cases were registered/processed, and fines of over Rs. 30 lakh were imposed. According to an SNGPL spokesperson on Tuesdsay, 32 connections were disconnected, six under-billing cases were processed, and fines of Rs. 1.86 million were imposed for illegal gas use in Lahore and Sahiwal. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, 14 connections were disconnected, 12 under-billing cases were processed, and fines of Rs. 0.50 million were imposed. In Sheikhupura and Faisalabad, seven gas connections were disconnected, six under-billing cases were processed, and fines of Rs. 0.02 million were imposed. In Bahawalpur and Multan, seven gas connections were disconnected, 65 under-billing cases were processed, and fines of Rs. 0.22 million were imposed.

 SNGPL has urged consumers to report any suspected gas theft or illegal use of gas to the company's helpline at 1199. The company has also warned that strict action will be taken against those found involved in such activities. This crackdown on gas theft and illegal use is part of SNGPL's ongoing efforts to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of gas to all consumers. The company has also launched a number of awareness campaigns to educate consumers about the importance of gas conservation and the dangers of gas theft.
