LESCO conducted an operation against electricity thieves on Friday, and disconnected a total of 265 connections across the region. The LESCO spokesman said that the connections caught were 1 commercial, 4 agricultural, 12 industrial, and 248 domestic, which were charged a total of 3 lakh 52 thousand 946 units of detection bill. He said that the connection in Islamia Park area was charged Rs. 226,000, and the connection in Fayaz Colony area was charged Rs. 185,000. He added that so far, LESCO has charged a total of 4 crore 26 lakh 80 thousand 204 units to electricity thieves, the value of which is Rs. 1 billion 83 crore 48 lakh 33 thousand 8. LESCO is urging consumers to pay their bills on time and to refrain from stealing electricity, as it is a crime and a safety hazard.
