The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested 26 terrorists during 286 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) from different cities of Punjab in one month. A spokesman of the Counter-Terrorism Department said that these intelligence-based operations were conducted in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Sargodha.
The CTD recovered explosive material, three IED bombs, 19 detonators, 34 feet of protective fuse wire, pamphlets, currency, and prima cards. The arrested terrorists were identified as Irfan, Zamin Ali, Mujahid Ali, Faisal, Sheraz, Naimatullah, Usama, Ghulam Yaseen, Yasir, and Imran.
The CTD spokesman said that these terrorists were planning terrorist activities and creating a law-and-order situation in the province. The spokesman further revealed that during the one month, 4662 combing operations were conducted in which 538 terrorists were taken into custody. CTD grilled 160009 suspicious people during these combing operations.
