In a joint operation on Monday, Punjab Rangers and Rescue 1122 rescued as many as 223 people trapped in a floodwater current in Shakargarh tehsil. According to rescue sources, a large number of people including women and children were trapped in the floodwater current released by India during the cultivation of the paddy crop. On information, teams of Punjab Rangers and Rescue 1122 started a rescue operation timely in the border area of Shakargarh tehsil. The people rescued by the Punjab Rangers and Rescue 1122 teams expressed gratefulness to them. The rescue team of Punjab Rangers was still there to provide immediate assistance to the people in the flood-hit area to deal with any emergency.
