Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) detained 21 vehicles being used for transportation of smuggled goods through secret routes. FC personnel seized smuggled betel nuts, tyres, cigarettes and huge quantity of cloths and later handed over these goods to customs officials. During anti-smuggling operation smugglers opened fire on FC team and blocked the National Highway. After retaliation from FC team smugglers managed to escape from the scene and then National Highway was opened for traffic. Frontier Corps and other law enforcement agencies vowed to expedite anti-smuggling operations in the region to curb smuggling. They further said that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
