Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is facing a major gas theft crisis, with losses exceeding Rs 2 billion annually, according to Waqas Shinwari, General Manager of Sui Northern Gas. Shinwari revealed that the southern districts, particularly Kirk, are hotspots for gas theft. In response, meters are being installed in Kirk, Hangu, and Tehsil Lachi to combat the theft. Additionally, significant gas discoveries in North Waziristan and Kohat are expected to enhance gas availability for the winter season. The ongoing measures aim to curb losses and improve supply reliability.
