The district administration of Abbottabad has sealed 19 marble factories to curb environmental pollution in the citt. According to details, keeping in view the environmental protection and public interest, the Abbottabad district administration took strict action against polluting industries operating in the small industries area of Mangalkatha. The action was carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram, following complaints lodged by the Mangal Bachao Tehreek regarding unchecked industrial pollution.
Assistant Commissioner Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, accompanied by officials of relevant departments, conducted a detailed on-site inspection. During the visit, it was found that several factories were illegally dumping marble slurry and industrial waste in and around Mangalkatha. Officials noted that the illegal disposal of waste had significantly increased environmental pollution, posing serious risks to public health and causing damage to natural resources.
The administration termed the violations a threat to the local ecosystem and warned that no leniency would be shown toward industries flouting environmental laws. The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the environment and public health, stating that similar operations would continue against polluting units to ensure strict implementation of environmental regulations across the district.
