A team of Civil Defense officials arrested 18 beggars during an operation against professional beggars in different areas of Islamabad on Tuesday. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Director Civil Defense. The beggars were arrested from the areas of G-10, F-10, Abpara, and G-11. According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, the operation against beggars is being carried out on a daily basis under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioners. The young children who were found begging were sent to the Edhi Center. The Islamabad Civil Defense teams have appealed to the citizens to cooperate with them in the campaign against begging and not to give alms to beggars.
