Khanewal’s district administration is actively working to ensure the provision of clean drinking water to resident and recently 160 water filtration plants have been handed over to the Clean Water Authority.However, a total of 249 plants across the district will be transferred in phases. Deputy Commissioner Dr Salma Suleman reviewed progress of the handover process during a meeting on Monday.

The session was attended by Deputy Director Development Shahid Rehman, representativesof the Clean Water Authority, the Chief Officer of the District Council, and local government officials.Dr Salma stressed, all water filtration plants must be upgraded and restored within the set deadline to ensure uninterrupted access to safe drinking water. She added that improved access to clean water would help reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases in the district.
