Thirteen commercial vehicles were impounded in Sargodha district on Saturday for overcharging and carrying illegal gas cylinders. According to the media reports, the crackdown was launched by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sargodha, Cap (R) Shoaib Ali, and senior district administration officials. The vehicles were impounded at different bus stops in the city. DC Ali said that the crackdown would continue without any discrimination and that strict action would be taken against vehicles that overcharge passengers or carry illegal gas cylinders. He added that the crackdown was part of the government's efforts to ensure the safety of passengers and to prevent accidents. The impounded vehicles included vans, buses, and trucks. The drivers of the vehicles were fined and the vehicles were released after the fines were paid.
This is not the first time that a crackdown has been launched against overcharging and gas violations in Sargodha. In recent months, there have been several accidents involving vehicles that were carrying illegal gas cylinders. These accidents have resulted in deaths and injuries. The crackdown by the district administration is a welcome step. It is important to ensure that passengers are safe and that accidents are prevented. The government should continue to take action against vehicles that overcharge passengers or carry illegal gas cylinders.
