As many as 13 people belonging to the same family lost their lives on Friday when a passenger van in which they were travelling fell into a ravine due to brakes’ failure in Dera Ismail Khan. According to rescue officials, the tragic accident occurred at the Dana Sar area in Dera Ismail Khan.  As a result, 13 people lost their lives while three were injured.

The accident took place while the vehicle was travelling from tehsil Darbadin area of Balochistan to Dera Ismail Khan. Officials stated that all the deceased and injured belonged to the same family. The dead persons included six men, three women, and three children. According to rescue officials, the injured were identified as Darya Khan, Ahmed and 10-year-old Yousaf.

Soon after receiving the report, the local police and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and injured persons to the hospital after legal formalities.
