12,500 litres of adulterated milk disposed of in RawalpindiBreaking

A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team on early Saturday intercepted various milk suppling vehicles on Motorway, GT Road and Koral Chowk Islamabad and seized 12,500 litres of adulterated milk. Sources said during on-going crackdown against adulteration, PFA teams established various checkposts on different locations of Rawalpindi and checked around 30 vehicles and seized 12,500 liters adulterated milk. Later the PFA team disposed of the adulterated seized milk.

Later Punjab Food Authority team imposed Rs3,64,000 fine on persons involved in supplying adulterated milk. A spokesman of Punjab Food Authority said that they were conducting checking of milk supplying vehicles on daily basis. He further warned that Punjab Food Authority adopted zero tolerance policy against adulteration and anyone found involved in selling adultery items will be dealt with iron hands.
