The Department of Art and Design at The Women University Multan (WUM) organized a commemorative coin and postal stamp design competition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
The event was held in collaboration with the Higher Education Department Punjab and the Chinese Consulate in Lahore, bringing together students, faculty members and officials to highlight the longstanding friendship and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Gwadar Pro reported that total of 56 students participated in the competition, including 50 students from the Department of Art and Design at the WUM, three students from NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology and three students from the Department of Fashion Design at USP.
The ceremony featured the unveiling of commemorative coin and postal stamp designs inspired by Pakistan-China friendship and bilateral cooperation.
Officials from the Chinese Consulate, university faculty, administrative officers and students attended the event.
Registrar of UWM appreciated the efforts of organizers and participants, saying the competition promoted cultural harmony and strengthened people-to-people connections through art and creative expression.
Following an evaluation by the jury, six students were declared winners in the two competition categories.
The winners will receive digital certificates in recognition of their achievements.
In the coin design category, Areeba Mubarak of The Women University Multan secured first position, followed by Malika Nazir in second place and Farwa Khan in third.
In the postal stamp design category, Muqaddas Fatima of The Women University Multan won first position, while Malaika Asif from USP’s Department of Fashion Design secured second place.
Emaan Hammad of The Women University Multan received third position.
Students also participated in activities highlighting the historical significance of Pakistan-China relations and the spirit of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
