For Mudassar, these are key takeaways from Pakistan’s debut at this global skills competition. “Observing more advanced technologies and working methods in Shanghai can help Pakistani competitors better prepare for future international contests.

I will share what I have learned with them after returning home,” he told CEN.

Mudassar, a student at the Government College of Technology (GCT) Sahiwal, began developing his interest in electrical work as a schoolboy after watching electricians at a small repair shop in his village.

He progressed through the WorldSkills Pakistan selection pathway, advancing from district-level competitions to the national competition before being selected for Shanghai.

The WorldSkills Competition, regarded as the world’s largest and most influential vocational skills competition, brings together 1,385 young professionals from 68 countries and regions in Shanghai from September 22 to 27 to compete across 64 vocational skills.
