PBIT, Chinese Consulate agree to form focal teams to resolve investor issuesBreaking

The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) CEO Imran Khawar and China’s Consul General in Lahore Zhao Shiren have agreed to set up “dedicated focal teams” to address issues faced by Chinese companies and deepen economic cooperation between Punjab and China. In a meeting at the Chinese consulate in Lahore on Tuesday, both sides discussed measures to strengthen economic collaboration, with a particular focus on supporting the relocation of Chinese industries to Punjab, Gwadar Pro reported.

According to PBIT, the discussion centred on “strengthening economic cooperation between Punjab and China, with special attention to supporting the relocation of Chinese industries to the province.” Both sides also agreed to improve coordination mechanisms. The statement said they would enhance “institutional coordination between PBIT and the Consulate to better facilitate investment.”

The meeting concluded with a joint decision to streamline investment facilitation. The statement said both sides agreed “to set up dedicated focal teams to resolve issues faced by Chinese companies in Punjab and to further streamline and deepen economic cooperation.”
