Pakistan has “consistently supported China on all matters of its core interests, including Taiwan,” Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said at a press briefing when answering a question regrading US’s plan to sell advanced weapons worth USD 11.1 billion to China's Taiwan region, according to Gwadar Pro.
“We will continue to adhere to the One-China principle and regard Taiwan as an inalienable part of China,” he said, adding, “We urge relevant countries to abide by their historical commitments, take steps to foster peace, security and development in the Taiwan Strait and the broader region and refrain from measures that may aggravate tensions or undermine peace and stability in the region.”
It is also reaffirmed at the press briefing that Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar will be visiting China for the 7th round of the Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue scheduled to be held in Beijing on 4 January 2026.
The Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue is the highest consultative mechanism between Pakistan and China, providing a structured platform to review the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest.
