A group of engineers and technical professionals from Pakistan's National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) have completed an advanced training program on reliability engineering in China, highlighting continued interactions between Chinese and Pakistani institutions in engineering and technology.

The nearly three-week program was organized by Beihang University and the Asian Simulation Federation (ASIASIM), with activities held in Beijing and Hangzhou from Aug. 3 to Aug. 21, Gwadar Pro reported om Monday.

The program combined classroom instruction, technical interactions and visits to research institutions and technology companies.

The training covered areas including reliability assessment, nondestructive testing, systems engineering, maintenance, autonomous systems and equipment health management.

Emerging technologies, including digital twins and large language models, were also discussed in the context of reliability engineering and practical applications.

During the program, the Pakistani participants visited Hikvision's headquarters in Hangzhou, Unitree Robotics and Tianmushan Laboratory.

The visits gave them an opportunity to learn about reliability design, testing and quality management in areas such as intelligent systems, robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles.

At the closing ceremony, Weng Jingnong, secretary-general of ASIASIM and a professor at Beihang University, said the training could serve as a new starting point for further interactions between Beihang and NESCOM.

Umer Farooq, representing the NESCOM trainees, expressed appreciation for the training arrangements and support from the Chinese organizers.

He said the participants had gained practical experience and benefited from both the courses and on-site interactions.

The program provided a platform for technical and academic interactions between the two sides, allowing the Pakistani participants to learn from Chinese universities, research institutions and technology companies.
