NHA marks Pakistan-China ties with tree plantation campaignBreaking

The National Highway Authority (NHA) marked the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations with simultaneous tree plantation ceremonies held across its regional offices.

It was aimed at highlighting the longstanding friendship and shared commitment to environmental sustainability between the two countries.

Gwadar Pro in its report, quoting an official statement, stated on Friday that the commemorative activities were organized in compliance with directives issued by the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the NHA headquarters in Islamabad.

In Sukkur, a ceremonial tree was planted at the premises of the NHA Regional Office by General Manager Maintenance Sindh-North Muhammad Hussain Shah. The ceremony was attended by other officials.

A similar event was held at the NHA West-Zone Regional Office in Quetta, where Member West-Zone Basharat Hussain led the plantation drive.

At the NHA Regional Office (M-5) in Multan, General Manager (M-5) Kashif Nawaz planted a commemorative tree along with Deputy Director Maintenance M-5 and staff members to mark the occasion.

Meanwhile, the NHA M-4 Office in Faisalabad organized a plantation ceremony within the NHA complex under the supervision of General Manager (Maintenance) M-4 Khawar Waqar.

A commemorative plaque was also installed beside the planted tree to symbolize the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China.

Addressing the gathering, Khawar Waqar said the tree plantation symbolized renewal, continuity and confidence in the future, reflecting the deeply rooted and forward-looking relationship between Pakistan and China over the past 75 years.

He added that the initiative also represented environmental responsibility and a shared commitment to future generations.

In Lahore, the NHA Central Zone also observed the occasion with a tree plantation ceremony at the NHA Regional Office. Member Central Zone Iftikhar Ahmed Sajid planted the ceremonial tree in the presence of several other officials.
