Men's & women's apparel export from Pakistan to China rises around 5% Breaking

BEIJING, Aug 27 (INP):Men's & women's apparel export from Pakistan to China rises around 5% in the recent months. Pakistan currently sells a sizable amount of clothing for men and women to China.  According to data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), exports of apparel for men and women from Pakistan to China increased by around 5% to over $18.03 million in the first seven months of 2024.

In an interview with China Economic Net, Ghulam Qadir, Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, said that  Pakistani apparel is trendy in China because of its excellent quality and reasonable price.  In addition, Pakistan gains a competitive advantage in land trade with China and zero tariff advantages under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement.

"In the first seven months of 2024, Pakistan exported $13.10 million worth of men's clothing to China, while the figure for women's was $4.93 million.  During the same period in the previous year, the figures were $12.65 million and $4.66 million respectively", he mentioned. Qadir added that Pakistani men's clothing exports to China in 2023 were $28.66 million, in 2022 it was $28.65 million whereas it was $21.62 million in 2021. 

He added that overall men's apparel increased by 6 % so far this year. He further said that women's or girls' trousers (community code 62046200) reached around $3 million in the first seven months of 2024. Ghulam Qadir told CEN that this year a big Pakistani textile delegation would participate in the China International Import Expo (CIIE 2024), and expected a fashion show from Pakistani models. 

He added that a large delegation from China is expected to participate in the “Texpo", the hallmark textile and leather exhibition organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to be held in Karachi in October this year.  These exhibitions serve as excellent sourcing avenues for buyers to touch, feel, and experience bilateral quality products.
