Gwadar Fish Auction Hall and the Mall Holding Section at the Surbandar Fish Landing Jetty have been formally inaugurated

The inauguration was carried by member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman and Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Moin-ur-Rehman Khan, Gwadar Pro reported.

On the occasion, both dignitaries also handed over allotment orders to the mall holders.

The Fish Auction Hall and Mall Holding Section had remained non-functional for a long period.

They have now been made operational on the instructions of GDA Director General Moin-ur-Rehman Khan. Along with this, a formal fish auction system is also being launched.

The initiative aims to provide better facilities to the fishermen of Surbandar, organize the buying and selling of fish, and further promote the fisheries sector.

The formal auction system will help fishermen in Surbandar obtain better and more appropriate prices for their catch, while making the buying and selling of fish more organized and transparent.

The revenue to be generated from the Fish Auction Hall and other facilities would be spent on the operation, upkeep, maintenance and further improvement of facilities at the same jetty.

A large number of fishermen were present at the site along with GDA Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad, Superintending Engineer Roads Nadir Baloch, Project Director Surbandar Jetty Haji Hanif Hussain, Executive Engineer Qasim Baloch, Surbandar Union Council Chairman Naseeb Nosherwani, prominent businessman and social figure Kahda Hameed Essa, and other relevant officials and personalities.
