The China-Pakistan Gwadar Faqeer Government Girls High School has received accreditation as a senior high school from the School Education Department, Government of Balochistan.

This recognition will unlock increased government support, greater operational autonomy, more qualified teaching staff and improved learning facilities, Gwadar Pro reported on Monday.

Funded by the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), Gwadar Faqeer Girls High School was established in 2016.

Over the past decade, the school has developed from a primary school to a comprehensive secondary school under the financial management of China Foundation for Peace and Development and China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC) Pakistan Limited, alongside support from local authorities.

To date, its student enrolment has risen from an initial 140 to 550.

“Gwadar Faqeer Girls High School has become one of the most prestigious institutions in the region. It offers educational opportunities to many local girls from impoverished families and orphans,” COPHC said in a statement.
