The Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) has announced the successful berthing of vessel HMO Leader, carrying general transshipment cargo, at Gwadar Port.
According to Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), the ship, identified by IMO number 9169811, arrived carrying 368 metric tons of general transshipment cargo, signaling what authorities describe as growing commercial momentum at the port.
According to a Gwadar Pro's report, the vessel, a multipurpose heavy-lift cargo ship equipped with onboard cranes, is capable of handling oversized and specialized cargo such as industrial pipes, machinery and project equipment.
The smooth handling of such cargo demonstrates the port’s operational capacity to manage complex logistics and diverse shipping requirements.
GPA said the arrival of HMO Leader marks “another milestone in enhancing maritime trade, strengthening regional connectivity” and boosting confidence among international shipping lines.
The development underscores Gwadar Port’s growing role in facilitating efficient port services and expanding regional and international trade.
