Under the modern surveillance system, government has started to install more than 100 towers and poles at various important and busy locations of the city for the installation of Safe City cameras in Gwadar.
Rapid practical progress is being made on the Gwadar Safe City project under the vision of transforming Gwadar city into a modern, safe and smart city.
Safe City Project official told Gwadar Pro that the total cost of the project is about Rs 7.5 billion rupees, while under the project, a total of 760 modern cameras will be installed at 135 different important locations in the city.
Through this modern surveillance system, effective surveillance of an area of about 145 square kilometers will be made possible, he added.
He said that the construction of the central complex and command and control center of the Safe City project is also progressing rapidly and the project will be completed and operationalized soon so that an effective modern surveillance and security system can be activated in the city.
He said that the Gwadar Safe City project is a critical need of the hour and an indispensable project for the future of the city, which will play an important role in promoting law and order, citizen safety, traffic management, business activities and investment in Gwadar.
The Gwadar Safe City project is an important and historic step towards making law and order more effective in the city, preventing crime, providing a safe environment for citizens and investors, and strengthening the surveillance and security system through modern technology.
This project is of exceptional importance in the context of the growing commercial, economic and international importance of Gwadar, especially in the context of the CPEC project.
The main objectives of the Gwadar Safe City project include timely detection of crimes, monitoring of terrorist threats, traffic management, making emergency response effective, immediate monitoring of suspicious activities and providing support to law enforcement agencies through modern technology.
The project will also significantly increase the capacity of the relevant agencies.
The project is being implemented with the latest technology and surveillance systems, including high-resolution CCTV cameras, facial recognition systems, vehicle number plate recognition cameras, PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras, thermal cameras, real-time monitoring systems, command and control centers, fiber optic communication networks, solar power backup systems, digital data storage and analytics systems.
The Gwadar Safe City project will increase investment, tourism, business activities and international trust in the city, while the project will help develop Gwadar as a safe, modern and world-class smart port city.
