Chinese University to boost smart city and architectural collaboration with HRLBreaking

Habib Rafiq Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. (HRL) signed a collaboration agreement with the Shenzhen University Institute of Architectural Design and Research Limited (SUIADR) to enhance cooperation in advanced architectural design, research-driven development, and smart city innovation.

The agreement signed in Shenzhen aims to bring internationally recognized Chinese expertise to Pakistan’s expanding infrastructure and urban development landscape. Under the partnership, SUIADR will work closely with HRL on smart city planning, architectural concept development, urban design frameworks, and the adoption of modern architectural standards aligned with global best practices, Gwadar Pro reported.

Officials said the collaboration is expected to support a range of upcoming major projects in Pakistan, with SUIADR contributing technical reviews, design evaluations, and research-based input to ensure sustainability, efficiency, and innovation in project outcomes. The partnership also seeks to introduce advanced methodologies in energy-efficient buildings, data-driven urban planning, and integrated smart city models.

The agreement was signed by Jehanzaib Zahid, Vice Chairman of HRL, and Cao Zhuo, President, CEO, and Chief Architect of SUIADR, at a ceremony attended by representatives from both sides. HRL noted that the partnership aligns with its long-term vision to elevate Pakistan’s architectural and urban development standards by collaborating with leading international research and design institutions.

SUIADR, a key research and innovation arm of Shenzhen University, brings extensive experience from China’s rapid urban transformation and smart city evolution. Both sides expressed confidence that the collaboration will contribute to more sustainable, technologically advanced, and future-oriented development projects across Pakistan.
