In a move reinforcing Pakistan-China agricultural collaboration, Prof. Dr. Illahi Bakhsh Marghzani, Pro Vice Chancellor of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) Baluchistan, served as a keynote speaker at the at 5th “Belt and Road” China-Pakistan Agriculture Forum held recently at Huazhong Agricultural University in Wuhan, China.
According to a Gwadar Pro's report, the forum, aimed at fostering sustainable agricultural development, brought together more than a hundred experts and scholars from leading institutions in both countries. The Pakistani delegation included representatives from prominent institutions including Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and Government College University, Faisalabad.
LUAWMS was actively engaged as part of Pakistan’s expanding agricultural cooperation network with China. During his address titled “Exploring the Potential of Camels as Climate-Resilient Dairy Animals in Pakistan,” Prof. Marghzani emphasized opportunities for joint research and development in adapting agriculture to climate challenges.
He also held substantive meetings with representatives from Huazhong Agricultural University’s College of Animal Science and Technology, focusing on strengthening institutional partnerships and enhancing collaborative projects. In these discussions, LUAWMS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing agricultural cooperation with its Chinese partners, emphasizing the shared dedication to sustainable development goals.
Prof. Marghzani further expressed sincere appreciation for the fruitful engagement and enthusiasm for deepening the collaboration through expanded research partnerships.
