Two students dead, 22 injured in bus accident in Kupwara Breaking

Two girl students were killed and 22 others injured after a college bus met with an accident in Kupwara district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred near Vodpora in the Handwara area this morning. The bus, which was carrying students on a picnic, lost control and overturned.

Locals rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Handwara, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, confirmed that one girl was brought dead to the hospital, while 23 others were admitted with injuries. Among them, two were in critical condition and referred to a hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.Later, officials confirmed that one of the critically injured students succumbed to her injuries, raising the death toll to two.

Meanwhile, at least eight members of a nomadic family were injured, and around 20 sheep and goats were killed in a separate accident inside the Chenani–Nashri tunnel along the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. An official said a truck carrying the nomadic family was travelling from Jammu towards Ramban when it hit another vehicle from behind inside the tunnel. The injured were shifted to Chenani hospital for treatment, the official added.
