In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti has asserted that her party will advocate not only for the restoration of statehood but also for the revival of Article 370 and the resolution of various issues affecting the territory. According to Kashmir Media Service, in a media interview, Iltija Mufti extended her best wishes to the National Conference (NC) and Congress as they prepare to form the new government following their electoral victory. “People expect them to fulfill the promises they made. I hope the new government is established swiftly and meets the expectations of the public,” she stated.
She emphasized the PDP’s commitment to championing the cause of Article 370 and addressing broader issues in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “We will fight for the restoration of Article 370 and resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue,” she affirmed. She also voiced support for reinstating the Darbar Move, the biannual transfer of government offices between Jammu and Srinagar, noting its cultural significance and economic impact: “Darbar Move is more than a tradition; it facilitates trade and connection between the two regions.” Taking aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Iltija Mufti remarked, “Their attempts through proxy parties have failed. I hope the BJP respects the democratic mandate, as the people have chosen NC-Congress.”
