National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah has reiterated the party’s resolve to fight for the restoration of abridged democratic rights of the people occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, Omar Abdullah addressing party workers’ convention in Tral, Pulwama district, said that he was fighting for the people of Kashmir and had no intention of running for any office. “Where is the promised development, where are the jobs?” Omar asked, challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party’s development promises after the revocation of Article 370. He said far from delivering on their claims, the ruling BJP government has plunged people of Kashmir into an abyss of hopelessness. “Our Gujjar brothers are being denied rights over forests. Shortage of basic utility services and the administrative deficit is taking a toll on us. People have no idea about where to go to redress their woes,” he maintained.
