Activists of Mission Statehood held a protest in Jammu, demanding a complete ban on the sale of liquor across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the protesters, Mission Statehood president Sunil Dimple said that Jammu has become a hub for liquor shops and warned that large-scale protests will follow if their demand for an alcohol ban is not addressed.
He called for a complete prohibition on the sale of alcohol in Jammu, Katra, and other areas. Dimple further urged the government to pass a bill in the ongoing session of the Assembly to impose strict punishment on drug and liquor vendors. The protest was attended by Mohinder Kumar, Dev Raj, Vipan, Mukesh, Rakesh Sharma, Kala Kumar, Satwant Singh, Ram Kumar Das, Akbar Khan, Shafi Khan, Nazir Ahmed, Nasir, and other activists.
