Magnitude 6.7 earthquake strikes off coast of Papua New GuineaBreaking

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off the coast of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake was at a depth of 52 km (32 miles), USGS added. Likewise, a 2.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Musandam Coast at 03.28am UAE time, according to National Seismic Network. The tremor was not felt in the country and had no impact. A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on Wednesday, sending tremors across various cities. The tremors were reported in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Abbottabad, Malakand, Kohat, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Mohmand, Bajaur and Swat. The epicentre was located in the Hindukush region of the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with a depth of 220 kilometres.
