Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) organized a protest demonstration in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels, the European Headquarter, to mark the Kashmir Black Day. According to Kashmir Media Service, Kashmiris and their supporters including Pakistanis and representatives of different NGOs based in Europe participated in the demonstration. Holding placards and banners, the protesters raised slogans against the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India and brutalities on the Kashmiris committed by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the protesters, the KCEU Chairman, Ali Raza Syed, said 27th October 1947 is the darkest day in history of Jammu and Kashmir when Indian troops in total violation of all international norms and democratic values invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people.
He appealed to the international community to pressurize New Delhi to stop brutalities in occupied Kashmir, end the occupation and give right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Other speakers said that the Kashmiris nation would never compromise their right to self- determination. They called upon the world community to force India to stop the atrocities against the people of occupied Kashmir. They specifically urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions to settle the Kashmir dispute.
