Kashmiri Muslims welcome Pandits with open arms in Shopian Breaking

March 24, 2026

In a heartwarming display of communal harmony and rejection of BJP’s Hindutva politics, local Muslims in south Kashmir's Shopian district welcomed Kashmiri Pandits with open arms as they returned to Nadimarg village.

According to Kashmir Media Service, dozens of migrant Pandits were met with a solemn gathering of Muslim neighbors, who stood shoulder to shoulder with them, sharing tears and embracing one another as prayers were recited.

This poignant moment underscores the strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits. Former MLA Ajaz Ahmad Mir, who attended the ceremony, emphasized that Kashmir is incomplete without the Pandits and expressed hope for their return to their homes.

Local Muslims echoed this sentiment, stating that their presence was meant to send a message of peace, respect, and solidarity.  The gathering marked a significant moment in the territory's history, highlighting the enduring spirit of communal harmony in Kashmir.
