The Indian armed forces’ massive cordon and search operation has entered its 31st consecutive day today, adding to the harassment of residents in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian troops, paramilitary personnel, para commandos and Village Defence Guards, supported by helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs, have been carrying out relentless operations in Dori Maal, Gambhir Mughalan and other areas of the district since May 23.
Senior Indian Army officers have also visited the areas along the Line of Control in Gambhir Mughalan and Nowshera several times to review the military operation and interact with troops on the ground. Harassment and house raids have continued, while hundreds of local residents, mostly Muslims, have been subjected to severe torture and brutal interrogation by Indian forces during the past 30 days of the military siege.
He media and other locals are not being allowed to enter or monitor updates from the operation and siege areas of the district. The forces have further tightened the cordon around the forest zone and intensified house-to-house searches across surrounding areas, turning the entire region into a virtual war zone.
