In the garb of Pahlgama drama, Indian forces have launched a massive crackdown operation across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, marked by over 1500 arrests of innocent Kashmiris during the ongoing house raids. According to Kashmir Media Service, inmates reported threats, intimidation, and harassment by Indian forces’ personnel.
Indian army troops and paramilitary and SOG personnel made the arrests during house raids in different areas of Srinagar, Islamabad, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Ganderbal and Budgam districts. Similar operations were conducted in Jammu districts. A big operation was launched in Dudu-Basantgarg area of the Udhampur district.
An Indian official told media men that Indian forces had launched operations following inputs about the presence of militants in Udhampur district. He said that as the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot hiding militants opened fire, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. “Exchange of fire is going on, while further details will be shared accordingly,” the official said.
