In an incident that critics say betrays a lack of professionalism and proper safety measures among the Indian army, a soldier went missing during a river crossing exercise in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, Sepoy Akshit Sharma was reported missing in the Manawar river in Khour area, prompting a joint rescue operation with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The incident occurred during a training drill in the Sunderbani area, part of the Indian Army's routine operational preparedness. Critics say this incident raises questions on the Indian army's safety protocols and training procedures. Such accidents can be minimized with stricter adherence to safety guidelines and better preparedness, they added.
