IIOJK employees announce two-day strike from April 1Breaking

March 30, 2026

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Health Mission Employees Association has announced a 48-hour sit-in protest and strike from April 1 across the territory to press for their long-pending demands.According to Kashmir Media Service, the employees from across the Kashmir Valley will assemble in Srinagar, where the main sit-in protest will be held.

The Association said the strike is a decisive step after years of unfulfilled assurances and official apathy towards the genuine concerns of healthcare workers. The protesting employees are demanding immediate pay revision, a secure job policy, and implementation of comprehensive social security measures, including EPF, ESI, insurance, and post-retirement benefits.

Employee leaders said NHM employees have played a vital role in strengthening the healthcare system, particularly during challenging times, but continue to face neglect, job insecurity, and lack of fair wages. They termed the strike a “peaceful but firm assertion” of their rights, urging authorities to initiate immediate dialogue and resolve the issues without further delay.

The Association has called upon all NHM employees to participate in the strike with unity and determination to send a strong message to the administration.
