IAF corporal dismissed amid ‘immoral practices’ row in Indian forces Breaking

April 28, 2026

A Corporal with the Indian Air Force was dismissed from service for allegedly being in a gay relationship with an Australian citizen and visiting foreign countries with him without permission.   The airman, who joined in 2014, sought premature discharge in 2024 citing “family urgencies and personal issues” linked to his homosexual relationship outside service.

After his request was rejected, a court of inquiry was ordered in December 2025 and he was dismissed in January 2026.   The Air Force argued he breached military discipline by visiting Thailand and Sri Lanka with his partner in 2023 without permission and giving incorrect addresses while on leave.   The airman had disclosed his relationship in his discharge application and declared he did not reveal information compromising national security.
