President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, has voiced serious concern over the continued delay in the restoration of full status to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Abdullah in a statement issued in Srinagar said the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have waited patiently and placed their faith in democratic institutions, restoration of status remains unfulfilled.

He stressed it is not a privilege but a constitutional right reflecting the democratic aspirations and political identity of the Kashmiri people. He noted that the absence of a clear timeline for restoration of full status has generated uncertainty and disappointment among the public.

Farooq urged the Modi-led Indian government to initiate concrete steps towards restoring full status, emphasizing that safeguarding democratic rights and constitutional guarantees is essential for lasting peace, stability, and development in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It is worth mentioning that India snatched occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019 by repealing Articles 370 and 35A.
