The Delhi High Court has refused to grant bail to senior APHC leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a fake case registered against him and other Hurriyat leaders in 2017. A bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Shalinder Kaur dismissed Khan's appeal against a trial court order, which declined him the reprieve on December 3, 2022. 

Nayeem Ahmad Khan was arrested on July 24, 2017 and is currently languishing in Tihar Jail in a 2017 case registered under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The NIA claimed the Nayeem had instigated the general public to resort to violence. However, Nayeem Khan contended the allegations saying that Kashmir is a UN-recognized disputed  territory, and calling for its settlement under the UN-supervised plebiscite is not a crime.
