In response to widespread student protests, the Bangladeshi government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has agreed to implement the Supreme Court's decision to allocate 93% of government jobs based on open merit, limiting the quota to 7%. The decision follows intense demonstrations that have led to the deaths of 174 people, injuries to hundreds, and the arrest of over 2,500 activists. The government also announced the restoration of internet services starting tonight and a relaxation of the curfew on Wednesday, allowing movement from 10 am to 5 pm. According to the channel report, offices in Bangladesh will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. The Supreme Court of Bangladesh had previously ruled to limit the quota for government jobs to 7%, prompting widespread unrest and protests across the country.
