The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned continued incidents of human rights violations and house raids by Indian troops in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. APHC leaders at a meeting in Batamaloo area of Srinagar, while expressing serious concern over the rising human rights violations in IIOJK, said the continued Indian military’s violent acts and bloodshed in IIOJK pose an existential threat to the Kashmiris, reeling under India’s brutal suppression.
They said changing the demography of the territory by granting voting rights to Indian citizens in the internationally recognised disputed territory is a big violation of international law. Terming the raids on houses of Hurriyat leaders and activists by Indian forces’ personnel and its probe agencies like National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency (SIA) as part of New Delhi’s systematic genocide campaign, they appealed to the international human rights organizations to take stock of the situation and help stop the wave of repression unleashed on the people of IIOJK by occupation troops. The leaders said the Modi regime cannot silence the Kashmiris’ cry for right to self-determination through its illegal action of 5th August 2019.
They pointed out that peace would continue to elude South Asia until the Kashmiris are granted their birthright to self-determination. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Youth Forum Mohammad Huzaif in a party meeting in Srinagar strongly condemned the harassment and intimidation of the Kashmiri youth and appealed to the international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to release all illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory.
