The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) has expressed serious concern over persistent and unscheduled power outages during an exceptionally cold winter, with temperatures dropping below freezing. According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir faces a 600 MW power deficit, contradicting earlier promises that smart meters would reduce outages. The power cuts are disrupting essential services, harming the economy, and posing risks to healthcare and education. KCC&I has urged authorities to procure additional power and implement sustainable solutions to mitigate hardships faced by residents and businesses.
