39 Indian Hindu Amarnath yatris injured in Ganderbal road accidentBreaking

July 28, 2026

At least 39 Indian Hindu Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured in a road accident in Ganderbal district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.According to Kashmir Media Service, the pilgrims were injured when their speeding bus skidded off the road in the Kangan area of the district on Tuesday. The bus fell onto a house at Hariganwan after the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve. The house was badly damaged, but it prevented the bus from rolling into the Sindh River.

No one was inside the house at the time of the accident, officials said. The accident comes a day after eight Indian forces personnel were injured in Shopian when a CRPF bunker vehicle overturned in Zainapora. The back-to-back mishaps have once again highlighted the ramshackle condition of roads and poor traffic management in IIOJK, where dilapidated infrastructure, lack of road safety measures and overburdened vehicles cause daily accidents, putting both civilians and forces personnel at risk.
